HOW TO IMPORT A DEVICE FROM A DEVICE FILE TO ENA?

This video helps you with importing a device from a device file to Entuity Network Analytics and having better control of your network management.

An Introduction

This article is going to show you how to import a device from a device file during your network management process. Importing a file of devices to take under management is often referred to as a seed file. A list of devices provided as a file without scanning an IP range but simply importing from a file you choose.

1. Navigation to Device Inventory

The option is available under the Main menu > Administration> Device Inventory

2. Adding Devices Dialog

By clicking into the Device Inventory, you can simply import devices using the “Import” button down to the bottom. It will bring up an add devices dialog which allows you to enter the details device by device.

In this case, I got a list of devices in the file called Ramsay lab and imported that. The format of the file is described in our documentation.

These new entries have just been added and they’re now being analyzed. The device will be added and in a minute or two and you’ll see it become reachable.
